S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl - Ultimate Edition

Immersive, but swamped by bugs

Generally I am satisfied with the game itself, I praise great graphics detail, in general attention to detail and that GSC did not give up releasing the game. After 80+ hours played I loved to play the game, I got immersed and spent two nights non stop playing the game. However I still feel the game was too rushed and lacked closed alpha / beta testing which would likely reveal severe technical issues. I really loved previous STALKER iterations and I was kind of used to some level of those games being kind of buggy, however STALKER 2 brought this to next level: 1) Insane level of bugs and issues. Even with 1.1.2 patch the game still feels like public alpha version. On PC where I have in depth tested stability by tens of hours stability tests (OCCT, Y-Cruncher and various synthetic and practical graphics tests) I experienced 2 blue screens linked to severe memory leaks (game was corrupting pagefile), random crashes and other non fatal memory leaks (game hogged whopping 40+ GB RAM) 2) Bugged campaign, as many ones I had issue with Zalissia rescue mission, but also some missions felt like logical puzzle game. I spent a lot of time figuring out where to go, what I am supposed to do. For instance Ahroprom mission, I could not figure out without YouTube where I should get an access card. I am OK with this on stashes, optional missions, but main missions should be quite easy to navigate through 3) Poor performance. I have 7900 XTX / 9800X3D / 64 GB 6000 MT/s CL30 RAM, but still getting barely 60+ FPS on native QHD is insane. Running this converts my PC into burner anomaly :) Unreal Engine 5 kills hard the performance including repetetive shader compilation. 4) At release no A-Life and even after patch 1.1 it is still not what it used to be on previous STALKERs. Zone still feels quite abandoned. Since 1.1 patch it is more livefull, but NPCs unload from rendering too soon compared to previous STALKERs
