A good game, though is very slow to start off with and combat is not as fluid as it could be. There chained attacks can stun lock you in to a failure. Also, some special attacks from NPC's do not telegraph long enough for you to react. Taking this into account they game is great to veg out to listening to a pod cast. The graphics are good, but the pop in is a little jarring. Also the frame rate stuttering is enough to put a few off. I weould recommend only if on a sale of £5 or less.
I have enjoyed this game so much. I know some people are saying the expansions as fair to not good, but I think they are great. The infiltration system is very well designed and fun to play, though I have yet to try a 400 ton infiltration mission yet. Though I did do a 250 ton one with only a Firestarter. I like how they are getting you to play some of the most iconic battles as well. Though the ONE fault I would give it is, it would benice to have the ability to buy modification kits to change the hard points. Though I guess the mod's will sort that out.
For the first adventure into this CRPG it is a good solid title. The quests are fun and interesting. The game play is quite addictive, but you will find yourself camping longer and longer as you level since the combat is quite lethal. The game does help mitigate errors by saving whenever you need, but this can be abused, but that is not to its detriment. You will NEED cartography, Lore, and Pick Locks to really start out. A mixed paladin idea is a good solid idea. I would have liked the ability to retrain as I spent some points in roleplay areas that did not help in game. It can be a min/max type of game, but not unenjoyable. Still Book II looks like they have learnt a few new ideas to help iron out the bugs in Book I.
