Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning

A classic before its time

Kingdoms of Amalur is one of the best games I've ever played. Its systems are clear and manageable, its graphics were amazing on the PS3, and the update with Re-Reckoning makes them even better. Salvatore's lore, the overall design and color, the bits of character here and there in the world, the voice acting (with a few member of the Critical Role cast in the mix) and the game system all combine to make what was obviously a labor of love. Shame about Studio 38.

No Man's Sky

Like coming home

Every time I come back to it, it just feels comfortable. The system is fairly instinctive, the universe is vast and fun to traverse, and there is a ton of stuff to interact with.

A fantastic game

Incredibly relaxing and whimsical, with an incredible soundtrack and a lot of fun systems to play with.

En Garde!

Absolutely perfect swashbuckling!

A+ system, voices, graphics. If you enjoy engaging, intention-driven, tactical combat, I highly recommend it.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker

I don't know what I'm doing wrong here.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to explore any options to develop characters, accomplish quests, or generally learn the game without dying horribly. And that's on a fairly low setting. I'm sure I'll be corrected in further comments...but I'm just not having fun.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

A classic for a reason

The Enhanced Edition provides the options that update Baldur's Gate perfectly.

Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package

Brain candy

I've tried Saints Row 2 multiple times, and it is missing the dedication to absolute silliness that 3 has. It is a product of its time, though, and it's definitely got its problems as a piece of media that is not socially aware at all outside of a goal of being fun. The voice acting is really good, the humor is on point, and it doesn't take itself too seriously. All high recommendations for a relaxing and destructive romp. It's not a masterpiece, but it's a great game to waste some braincells on.

Baldur's Gate 3

Absolute perfection

This game is absolutely amazing. Highly customizable difficulty, a great mod scene, incredible writing, a fantastic system, beautiful graphics...everything. This is what people mean when they say video games can be art.
