The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY Edition

Morrowind - My first Elder Scrolls game

My love for Morrowind is vast. I remember when I was in my early 20's and I had an original Xbox, I rented this game I thought was just called Morrowind. I remember the gorgeous and immersive world I was presented with upon first trying to play. I didn't understand it very well and restarted many times before it all clicked but once it did my love for the game was unquestioned. From that first time setting foot in Seyda Neen, to seeing the ziggaruts of Vivec; there was nothing that didn't enthrall me. I wanted to see the land and walk each inch. That first impression never left me. I always revisit when I can those memories. Becoming the Head of House Redoran, being the Knight of the Imperial Dragon; all of these are memories that I love. I have purchased this game on PC 7 times for myself and friends and I will purchase again here at GOG. If you have never experienced Morrowind, you really need to give it an opportunity.

Sword of the Samurai

Greatest game I have ever played...

In spite of the age I will never forget this game. How I started playing hoping to attain shogun. Dying at least a dozen times before I even made it to Hatamoto. Trying to get my honor built and received the preferred position only to have a priceless heirloom taken from me in the night to lose honor. To attempt to retake and be forced to commit seppuku. How my family was forced to commit seppuku after I failed to defeat the daimyo in combat and thus was not promoted. Sword of the Samurai is a strategy game at its heart. Troop movement and combat are more meaningful to the game play then sword play or overhead fights. In essence the goal is to go from grokenin (forgive me on spelling, it has been awhile since I have seen it) to Hatamoto to Daimyo to Shogun. How you do that is up to you but you do live with Bushido. Honor, Loyalty and Duty you will be judged on and being the best in all areas will obtain the favored position. However, can also obtain this through subterfuge and general douchebaggery. Performing assassinations and dishonoring fellow vassals can also attain that position. Great game wish there was more at this time I could say. I just can't think of anymore and am truly excited about this release.
