SOMA is a terror walking simulator with a great history and a great setting that makes it very immersive and chilling. We put ourselves in the shoes of Simon, where after having a car accident, he must go for a brain analysis. From here, we wake up in a mysterious destroyed building where we do not know how we have arrived or why. From now on, we will discover that things are not as they seem and that will make us reflect on ourselves. SOMA, despite it's a scary game, has more weight in its argument than fear. It is one of these games that make you ask questions that we never ask, but the answer could be key for the future. When Simon discovers the truth, he realizes what he once was and what he is now and thanks to the great immersion that he offers, he puts us in his situation, turning a game of fear, almost into a philosophical game. It's weird to explain without making spoilers, but I think the best way to understand this is to play the game. As I said before, the feeling of fear and terror is excellent. There are very few enemies, but each of them is a threat with a certain intelligence that we must study in order to survive. The good thing is that if they "catch" us they will not kill us instantly, but we will fall wounded and we will still have a second chance. This coupled with dark scenarios and narrow corridors with few safe areas, make it a very immersive horror game where we must pay attention at all times. An essential game if you like horror games with a good story. It isn't very difficult and it is very basic (like all walking simulators), but we will seldom see another similar game that can overcome the narrative and immersion of SOMA. Thanks for reading and sorry for my bad English.
Bioshock 2 is more of the same as its first delivery, although with a very interesting new story and with small changes in the gameplay that make it more varied and fun. If you already liked Bioshock 1 a lot, this will not disappoint you at all. We put ourselves in the skin of "Subject Delta", known as the first Big Daddie of Rapture. This time we have a simple mission: to save a girl who recognizes us as our father, while we try to find out what is happening in Raputre. Keeping in mind that all this is a prequel to the first game. The gameplay and the objectives are identical to Bioshock 1 but with slight improvements. We have to collect ADAM from the Little Sisters and finish with the Big Daddies that protect them. But this time, once we have them, we will have to protect them while collecting ADAM from the corpses. Something similar to what was done by the end of the first Bioshock, only that here the bodies will be distributed in different areas of the levels. This I loved because it gives a more strategic and defensive Bioshock because we must learn to set traps and take better advantage of the environment. Not only you have to kill enemies, but also protect the Little Sisters and there will be a moment that if we do not have the terrain full of turrets, bots and cyclone traps, it will be impossible for us to survive and we will have to start collecting ADAM with less resources. Playing on hard difficulty is a satisfying challenge. I love it. Beyond this, we have the same Rapture with new enemies, new weapons, new plasmids and a new drill that we will have to recharge with fuel to use it, which makes it more limited, but also more powerful. As I said before, who liked the first part, I recommend it 100%. Very good game and very good singleplayer shooter with lots of action, exploration and fun in all aspects. Thank you for reading my review and sorry for my bad English.
Bioshock is one of the best FPS of PS360 generation. A very complete, challenging and fun linear shooter. His level design is excellent, where the exploration is extraordinary. It may have few weapons, but each one of them feels unique when used, which offers a very good experience when using it and evolving it with its different types of ammunition. Like our powers (plasmids) we can burn, electrocute, freeze and confuse our enemies making them more vulnerable to our gunshots. Rapture is simply wonderful. One of my favorite cities of video games with Columbia (what a coincidence, no?). For more years to pass, this city will always look very beautiful. No open world with good graphics will replace the beautiful views of Rapture. Like his soundtrack. I love games with a retro touch and classical music. More games of this style like Bioshock or Fallout are needed. His story is simply amazing. From what looks like a shooter whose story does not matter to anyone and that the only important thing is the gameplay, his villain gives a totally opposite approach. Andrew Ryan is a genius and at the same time a man with a great personality. All its history that is told through the radio messages hidden by the maps. Bioshock is a surprising, elegant and meaningful story. All the detail is well explained from the origin of ADAM, to the creation of the Big Daddies and the Little Sisters. The only thing that still does not make much sense to me is about the Vita Cameras. Especially because only the protagonist uses them, but never the enemies or a boss. Only you. A totally essential FPS for those who like singleplayer shooters like DOOM or Metro. By the way, most of the negative reviews are due to the fact that this Remaster is garbage. I have crashed the game a lot of times and lost the progress. A guide circulates online to help avoid this problem in most computers. Thank you for reading my review and sorry for my bad English.
