Let me expand that headline. The genres listed earlier on this page are wrong. This is NOT a Role-Playing Game. It has lots of narrative (and very enjoyable story at that) , but no RPG mechanisms. This game is not really turn based in the usual sense. Your character moves at most one square, then monsters etc get to move at most one square, then you make another move. This IS a puzzle game. In fact, it is the BEST puzzle game I know of, and quite possibly the best puzzle game ever. Bonus: you can download free user-created ‘holds’ to play, and purchase some excellent but inexpensive ‘holds’ from the publisher. (Be sure to subscribe to CaravelNet too!) Also, like GhostOfKarelia says, this is NOT the DROD game to start with. OTOH, you can buy this, buy the earlier games as DLC and play them in order; in fact, I would recommend this.
