While not for everybody, I can not believe how addicting this is. There is something about having 3 story tall war machines blowing chunks out of each other that just can not get old. All of my free time these days is spent running yet another mission. Made by the same people who created the greatly enjoyable Shadowrun series, Battletech has you run a mercenary company whose job is to wage war with massive bi-pedal tanks. While the battles are endlessly addicting as stated, running the company is a whole other gmae. And while a much simpler affair, it is here where you win or lose. You can spend hours tweaking your Mechs and pilots skills. Then watch as they shred the opponents in the battles, or see them all get blown apart by bigger mechs. The only way to lose is to go bankrupt. If you will enjoy this game comes down to what your background is. If you already like Battletech: the Tabletop game, Mechwarrior, Mechcommander, then you will love this. If you enjoy tactics games where every decision really matters, then I recommend you check this out. But if you are looking for a fast paced game of Jagged Alliance with robots, you might want to pass. This is a ponderous game, one where every choice could make a break something. But when things break...hooo boy! Like I said, once you start..it's hard to stop. Just to clarify, there were some GPU issues overheating some systems, but those were patched in the first week. I have had no problems since, and they have already announced some upcoming material.

Beautiful, hand painted backdrops in which you drop your character to experience the darkly neon Shadowrun. The combat is highly addictive with a huge amount of options. The adventure that comes with it, while very liner, is extremely well written. Seriously, some of the best writing I have ever seen in a computer game. Also, the content that has come out already from the editor is amazing. Ranging to tight storyline's to open setting exploration. You can guarantee countless hours of simple RPG fun. Save system could be better, but I have play much worse. And it will be fixed this Jan. In addition to another campaign with, expected, high quality writing. Defiantly a fun game. Especially for the price and no DRM.
