We all know the story. Game gets hyped to high heavens, people go mad for it. Game drops and does not live up to expectations. Even if the game dropped at the condition it is currently in people would have reacted negatively due to how this game was fed to us in the gaming journalism world. All of that aside, this game has been one of the most surprising experiences for me. There is a level focus on relationships, emotional impact and grief that is handled in a way I would expect to see in something like a Visual Novel. The mannerisms, the expressions, the way the character models vary and hold themselves under certain situations really makes for an extremely engaging story. One where you truly feel for everyone involved. (Judy and Panam really steal the show, but I'm sure you're aware of that). The quests are interesting, each one giving you some interesting dilemmas and decisions to overcome. All vary too. One moment you could be deciding whether you should pull the plug on a sentient group of taxis, the next, crucifying a criminal for justice's sake. It constantly left me wondering what was coming next. The gameplay seems deep enough, although I feel like I've only scratched the surface. I've gone for mostly a stealth shooter build, but there are some interesting melee builds or netrunner (basically mage) builds you can play around with. This sort of gameplay has me thinking that when I'm done with this run through, I'm going to go through again and try something different. Night City is truely a wonder to behold, and for it to run as well as it does on my low tier pc (Ryzen 5, GTX 1650) and look so fabulous makes me wonder what the high end gamers can see. Honestly, if your perception of this game still that it is a buggy mess and a waste of time, you're doing yourself a disservice. Please play this. It genuinely is outstanding.
