RoboCop: Rogue City - Alex Murphy Edition

Like playing the Robocop 4 movie.

Starting off, It's buggy as can be. Crashes if you play too long, crashes if you explode too many things at once. Crashes if you launch the game when Mercury is in retrograde. That's what is keeping this game from getting a full 5/5. Oh, and the accidental body horror from character models not working right and it looking like people have their gums sewn into their teeth. The obvious bad out of the way, From the art, to the voice acting, to story writing, this game is filled with the essence of Robocop. The game mechanics are right in line with how Alex would fight, as if he were wearing a costume that was way too tight to move around in. But you will feel like a tank at times. Skills build meaningfully but without pressure to "get it right" and the weapon modding system is robust enough to let you own your build but is dead simple so you don't have to spend time on it. While this isn't a big AAA title that is supposed to blow the socks off anyone who plays it, if you enjoyed the movies and like first person shooters, this game is right for you (if you can play it).

RoboCop: Rogue City

Beautiful Buggy Mess

I have crashed at least once every chapter and whenever more than one object exploded at the same time. That said, this game absolutely has the feel of the Robocop movies embedded in it. The graphics and mechanics really lend itself to the power fantasy of the origional robocop movies. Above this, a great amount of world building with the feel of how robocop would actually patrol the mean streets of Detroit with tacky one-liners and a near emotionless application of the law in every situation, mundane or action packed. This is one of those games that is absolutely great when it works, but unfortuneately it doesn't work that well.
