I never thought I'd see the day where the original Resident Evil was available for cheap on a modern PC storefront. It's wonderful.
The title of the review says it all. This is one hell of a high effort port, possibly one of Nightdive's most.
First off, this is the EUROPEAN DOS version (titled Exhumed...) ported with DOSBox... The strafing is still bad, but at least the music is there? To truly experience this game, use a program like PCExhumed or PowerslaveGDX. The game itself is a fun egyptian shooter though, definitely the best forgotten Build Engine game.
The game itself is fantastic, I love this game and played it a lot as a kid, however there are so many bugs and glitches in this remake right now such as glitches preventing you from progressing in levels and bad collision detection, etc. Don't buy it until it gets patched.
