Amnesia: The Bunker

5/5, 10/10

The Bunker and SOMA show, that FG can make a perfect horror game both based on plot and gameplay.

Resident Evil

Raw just like I imagined

It's wonderful that GOG negotiated with Capcom to distribute this game on their platform! I had a great time. Zero bugs, zero issues. I just downloaded and played. Sure, you could say that adding the not-so-popular Windows 95/98 version after almost 30 years isn't exactly a dream come true, but the whole thing is very stable, has that divine option to speed up the door opening animations, etc. Pros: - Stable - Very faithful to the original - Additional graphic options - Uncensored Cons (if I have to be picky): - Sometimes the dialogues are too quiet compared to the background music - The blood under the bodies of fallen enemies is barely visible, making it hard to tell if the enemy is truly down

Prodeus

Hart to look at

There are many games with epillepsy warnings, but my god, prodeus is on another level. Dark corridors, dark installations and tons of sparkling elements, lights, rt effects... pure hell for the eyes. And these effects when enemies spawn - worst ive seen in my life: huge explosion-like bubbles. Unfortunately i cant do anything about it with graphics settinngs. big no-no for me at the moment for this inconvience alone.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

Far better than New Order

10 times better than New Order. Everything, every little problem I had with New Order has been fixed. Pros: -great art style -scale of Castle Wolfenstein is fantastic -more of fun mechanics, less bullshit -more freedom -great atmosphere -no boredom at all Cons -its the same shitty engine (though much better implemented) -minor render bugs

Wolfenstein: The New Order

Mixed bag at best

Unfortunately this Wolfenstein is far more console focused than it should be. Pros - original setting (post WWII world ruled by nazi Germany) - lots of soul added to the grandpa of FPS genre - original atmosphere and tone of the game - great shooting - original languages spoken by characters (english, polish, german) - humor - screen space reflections in a game from 2014 - sounds - controls (BJ's movement) - graphics in cutscenes Cons - dramatically flawed engine: texture quality far below any 2014 standards (compressed jpegs all the way) - game weight's far too much for what it offers - texture popping - lots of bugs - linear gameplay of the worst kind far too often - too many cutscenes - too many forced animations - very poorly and briefly touched serious issues of WWII - poor balance between seriusness and cartoonish humor - few moments with excellent shooting mechanics - undercooked stealth sections - lacking guns

Shadow Warrior 2

Wish I could give it 5 stars

IMHO great sequel to the 2013 reboot Pros - GRAPHICS (like WOW - from models, to settings, textures etc.) - great, stable engine - interactivity (U can destroy looots of things) - humor - ArtStyle - many different settings - open nature with possibility to revisit locatons - hub - level design - original enemies design Cons - undercooked weapon stats mechanincs (which is overwhelming and boring at the same time) - weapons lacking punch far too often - Sci fi levels being sometimes hard too look at (reflections, overbrights etc) - post process effects galore (again, making it hard for the eyes) - boring cutcenes - as with 2013 SW, very poor face animations

Butcher

Hard for all the wrong reasons

After playing the demo a while ago, I couldn't wait to lay my hands on the full version. And boy, it's a mixed bag of emotions right now. Game looks and sounds fantastic, even better than demo. Levels are crisp, shooting feels tight and responsive. What could possibly go wrong? Difficulty level... And I'm not saying that I don't enjoy a challenge. I just cant believe, that I end up with no ammo so often. From a frantic, hardcore shooter, this has become more of a tactical fest. And it's frustrating as hell, nothing like the demo, which was also hard but because of the enemies. Maybe I could understand that design choice but checkpoints are also gone now. Replaying levels time and time again just to end up with chainsaw at some point is not fun at all. I really hope devs can fix that otherwise fantastic game. Shame it plays like that at the moment.
