Heaven's Vault

Interesting idea, but poor execution.

The game's language mechanics are overly simplistic, and your character tends to just randomly decide to confirm things. Sometimes there's logic there, but at times there is none. The game is, unfortunately on rails. Even if you have multiple locations on the map, if they are not glowing orange you cannot go there. This is is especially annoying when the plot rails derail your exploration of a given place. Finally, the camera controls and movement controls are rather horrible. Randomly taking over your camera to lock it in place. Walking absurdly slowly, and even slower in certain sections. As others noted, the text will continue without you advancing it in certain scenes. And, finally, I HATE the woman I am forced to play. I hate her so much for about 80% of her dialogue. It's like I'm back in Fallout 4 and trying our the "sarcastic" dialogue option only to find that apparently being incredibly rude is now "sarcastic", except that this game doesn't even give you any options past "question" or "reply" in the majority of the dialogue. 2-stars because despite all that, the written language does appear to actually be properly constructed.

Guild of Dungeoneering Ultimate Edition

Progress sluggish and repetitive

I'll give the voice actor for the "Bard" props, his little tunes are amusing...the first few times. Unfortunately, the game itself is a crawl. After you unlock the first row of classes, items and "blessings" (only one of which can be used each run) at a reasonable 50 gold, you'll discover that the next tier is 750 gold... and you'll be going over the same levels with the same highly random gameplay (from which rooms show up, to which treasures or monsters do, to which cards get drawn in battle), as you try to save up for even one room. It's unfortunate and the game gives the impression of a game that was released too early from Early Access instead of an "Ultimate Edition".

CLARC

One crippling omisson

The game's controls can be very finnicky. If the game had a "rewind" button, I'd likely give it 3 stars. Unfortunately, it does not. So if the controls fail to respond, an you're killed, you get pushed back to the last checkpoint, which can be quite a bit behind you on some levels.

Little Big Workshop - The Evil DLC

Cripples by the lack of loans.

Like the base game, this DLC is crippled by the lack of the ability to take out loans. It's made even worse by the fact that there are extra bits of equipment to purchase. Research online shows that the devs are well aware that this is an option that is highly requested. They chose to cripple the game, so the review reflects their creation.

Cripples by the lack of loans.

This game crippled by the lack of the ability to take out loans. It's made even worse by the fact that there are extra bits of equipment to purchase. If you get to negative $5,000 you lose the game, but apparently your expected to keep selling your equipment if you have a project on the way that's not quite completed (wasting loads of money and destroying your chances to create further items with that equipment). Research online shows that the devs are well aware that this is an option that is highly requested. They chose to cripple the game, so the review reflects their creation.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Free DLC Program

Does not show up in library

Despite it being marked as "owned" is does not appear until Wither 3 or Witcher 3 Game of the Year edition. As a result it might as well be vaporware as it can not be installed.

Idle, despite claims otherwise

I tried out the .io version first (as one of the reviews in the trailer mentions it), and decide ot buy the game. There was a claim in game that this is not an idle game, but rather a game about efficiency. ...It's an idle game. A somewhat random one at that. You do unlock items that can increase efficiency, but once you've deleted parts of your old lines to replace the parts, you're back to waiting for thousands of items to be delivered. There is also a distinct lack of a pause option, which may lead some (like me) to not realise the item had a quarter-twist in the wrong direction until they actually trace the line all the way back to the beginning and see it. Nice music, though.

Campaign removed?

The game used to have a limited campaign to it, now it appears there is only one level remaining from it. As other reviews mentioned, there also is not some sort of DRM that's been added (I never saw it pop up until this most recent install), which states that you need to log in to get updates to the game. ...Isn't that what my GOG account is for when I've purchased a DRM-free game?

Okay title...

Game's fine, though I have no clue why they decided to have the ability to reset after death, and yet only start over with one of three hearts. It just causes needless loading times. Game itself is good enough, though you'll need to play it a few times to get a feel for the Skill tree. It would have been better if they'd just had all that information visible from the start.

Exceptionally short...

The game has some interesting puzzle, though a few became repetitive after a while. Especially when you know what you have to do, but there a requirement to more through previous scenes to get to the image you require next. The main issue is that the game is exceptionally short, especially the last few minutes. To give an idea: My GOG confirmation email is stamped at 12:23 p.m., it is just past 2:30 p.m. as I write this review.
