Well the core plot has interesting mysteries, however deepdown it is a rather simple plot where all meaningful points and solutions only happen near the end or at the end. So the counterpoint to the interesting core plot is that a lot of the way to get there feels a bit silly, at least on Ryu´s side, Fou Lu´s side is just the interesting plot development, which is great. So it is a good story, just feels very slow to progress even if you are doing a lot of things. Also Ryu being a silent protagonist is a bother and makes him really dull. Now for mechanics, the master system works nicelly, the magic combo is interesting, but sadly there isn´t that much variation for late game. The minigames are mostly nice though fishing should stay simple like on BoF3. The new dragon system is needlesslt complex and I miss Ryu actually turning into a dragon in battle rather than the summoning. Also most dungeons lack save points. Art is amazing,. super fluid animations, great colos and the 3d blends wonderfully with the pixelart. The port is great really, just some dated concepts hindering some great and innovative ideas.
