Playing Time: 2h 19m This is one of those games that you are either going to love a lot or absolutely hate, which is also an accurate description of how I feel about this game. I love the world sections but hate all of the tracks. As as you can see from my playing time, you can blow through this game rather quickly if you skip all the tracks.... which I also say as someone who even after playing this game several times, still wastes time crashing into things. I do recommend getting this one when it is on sale and not paying the full price.
Time Played: 30m I would recommend this game entirely as a dragon simulator - be a dragon, fly around, kill your enemies from above, and do other dragon stuff. If you purchase this game for these reasons, you won't be disappointed. If you purchase this game expecting a dragon RPG, I do think you'll be very disappointed with what you get. Even within the short amount of time that I have given this before writing this review, I think that I can safely say that this is only an RPG in the very lose sense in that you can level up to get stat boosts and learn new spells. It otherwise really does not feel like I'm playing an RPG at all. However I find that I can't give this game anything other than a three even as a dragon sim because even in the short amount of time that I have played it, I can already see signs of the repetitiveness that the other reviews have mentioned. Another issue is the game's tutorial. It's helpful at first, until it tries to teach you to use the spells in a way that doesn't seem to work as written. I had to go to the GOG forums for this game just to figure out how to use magic because the tutorial wasn't teaching me. If you have never played this game before, you are better off just setting the difficulty to zero so that nothing can kill you and start a new game to get a feel for the game and its controls, then putting the difficulty back to five when you're ready to actually play.
Total Playtime: 4h 59m There are no side quest or completionist features unless you're playing the game through Galaxy to earn achievement clipart. The game itself is an emotional journey where Game tries to constantly show the exit at first on the basis that there is no game for you to play, then Game solicits your help when he ends up in the wrong game dimension with you tagging along for the ride. A few of the puzzles require some amount of timing, but nothing requires the reflexes of someone that plays first-person shooters or platformers. What is required is lots of out of the box thinking.
Total Playtime: 7h 38m This was a completionist playthrough in that I did everything in the main game but did not play with the Arena section that is accessible from the main menu. There really is a lot to like about this game. Combat is handled by typing words, and the game has an adaptive difficulty where the game tries to give you a challenge based on your typing skill level. You can also make your own custom dictionary if you wish to do so and instructions for how to do this can be found in the GOG forum for this game. The one and only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5/5 score is that the game can be hard for colorblind people (which I am) and a lot of that could have been solved if there was an option to adjust the thickness of the black border on words. It make seem like a small thing to deduct a point for -- until you consider that you can make your own dictionary, there's lots of language options by default, and even the option to switch your keyboard layout between QWERTY and AZERTY. Being able to adjust the border on words too would really make the difference between a game that is really good and one that is exceptional. Regardless, I do recommend this game. However if you are color-blind, you may want to check out some videos of people playing the game just to make sure that it won't be an issue for you.
The supporter pack is a bit expensive for what it is considering that it is avatars and wallpaper images until you consider how cheap the base game is. Because pricing can vary by region, I'm seeing prices of $1.99 USD for Zodiacats and $4.99 USD for the Supporter Pack. I'd recommend this if you want to support the Devcats due to how inexpensive the game Zodiacats itself is as this really is just a handful of avatars and wallpapers plus a thank you from the cats.
Total Playtime: 2h 36m This is a tile swapping puzzle games based on the zodiac with two additional puzzles related to Catherine for a total of 14 images. Completing them all in both easy and hard mode will net you a total of 28 puzzles. You can also swap between light and dark mode at any time, even while working on a puzzle. Overall, I'd recommend Zodiacats if you like cats and jigsaw puzzles both.
Some of these reviews aren't being reasonable. This is by the same Luke Scull that released Siege of Shadowdale, Crimson Tides of Tethyr, and Tyrants of the Moonsea as free canceled premium modules for NWN1. All three modules got updated for NWN:EE with only Tyrants being an actual premium module while the other two remained free modules. He's been super active in the NWN community. The $10 price isn't unreasonable for the amount of work he's put into this. Some of you will pay more money for games that are far worse and just because this is a module and not a stand-alone game doesn't change that. If there's any real complaint, it's that this is a direct sequel to The Wailing Death campaign that we can all agree is the absolute weakest campaign where most people play once if they ever finish it at all but then again, maybe this will give people some more motivation in regards to playing The Wailing Death campaign in the first place.
