This original edition, compared to the Spacer's Choice Edition, is better in terms of lighting choices and subtle animations. It, however, runs more poorly despite worse graphics and has a few annoying bugs. I love the world building and gameplay of The Outer Worlds so I bought another copy even though I own the SCE on Steam. In terms of the actual game, it doesn't have a massive scope so approach it as another AA game. However, you can clearly tell this game was made by veteran devs and writers, as despite the budget limitation, things like writing and level design seem very mature and professional. If you like sandboxes or open worlds you'd be disappointed. If you prefer more linear RPGs and tend to go with the story instead of wandering around aimlessly, you have a lot of options in how you play it. If you don't try to talk to everyone and read at least half of the texts on ternimals and notes, you miss out on a lot of the fun.
