Well made classic titles like this ARE SUPERB for running on your phone/tablet? They also look beautiful on 4K 55"'s Gog's releases are THE BEST for these, as they play well with MagicDosBox, or just to run natively on your PC rig. Remember how useful it is to have the full catelog of AMAZING DOS games like this one here on your portable device. Storage is cheap these days FOR GREAT QUALITY ssd/sd and with the minimal size these titles take up you can always keep them installed :) SO MANY advantages IMO!
I thought this looked like a strange game. SO I clicked on it, then read the reviews. First, WHY is their ANY data collection for a single player offline game IF that is actually a thing (and according to one review it seems to be). SECOND If you want to prevent this thing from phoning home, SAME AS WITH ANY APP AS THEY ALMOST ALL DO (say on android for sure etc.) then understand how to install & use a firewall like you should anyways if you have been in computers for any length of time. Like for windows10/11 you would use WINDOWS FIREWALL CONTROL from binisoft or whatever, then you have an EASY TO USE GUI over the somewhat clunky one that comes stock/vanilla. yet for any other system, this is almost a REQUIREMENT these days for safe computing, so go figure out what the best is for your device in the same way.
This game is truly a wonder. I knew it would be good going in, yet I have to say that I believe it very well could be the BEST single player fantasy FPS I have ever played. Coming from someone with around 45 years of video gaming experience that means a LOT! The reviews for this game kept me from buying it for a little, and when I did I got it for just a little under $1.50 canadian with tax and all. Before I booted it up I knew I was in for a good experience just because of the value I was about to get (14Gigs from a Triple A studio), yet little did I know just how astounding it would be. My advice is to do a first play on the easiest of the 4 difficulty levels and see if you can survive the entire game without dying. You get your choice of Male/Female model/character. I was UNSURE of the save system in the game so ended up playing until I died which was near 2 hours by falling off a cliff. Up to that point I felt like a super-hero just curb stomping almost everything. THIS is important as some of the first bosees have mechanics that need to be overcome to defeat them, and this will allow you to survive. Save the higher (3) difficulties for later plays of this amazing title :) So I was going to try and make this short. Production value on this game is INSANE, voice acting 10/10. Story excellent (tho I still just fastforward) yet it is the DRM free experience of owning such a beautiful game on the BEST store you can find online - GOG! Yes, this is one of those rare gems which is an absolute MUST BUY for fans of the genre on sale! So as a final note. From my initial experience, the games SUPER complex crafting systems and everything are so well done you can get right into them, yet check this out. There is also an option called SMART INVENTORY which takes all the micromanagement out of that system so you can just enjoy the FPS fun pure. So best of both worlds for both types of players who want to play either style. The graphics hold up super!
This is a great game. I had booted it up before and failed to recognize this. This time I played through the tutorial. I will state that it has LOTS of resolution options (up to 4K?) yet almost everyone of those are completely useless for gaming. This is understandable, as it is a 1.0 release complete game from decades ago. So HERE is what you have to do. Use MAGPIE FREEWARE and play at the LOWEST in game windowed res (640x480). I did this and played at upscaled 4K. Everything was pure readable and buttery smooth. I look forwards to playing through the campaign at my leisure. Now I will seriously consider buying Cloud Punk as well because I like the 6 degrees of freedom driving, etc. Peace out all!
Yes, this is like a zillion times more entertaining than Tetris. I mainly bought it for the 4 player CUSTOM game mode it has. Because even though board games are nice, obviously having them on computer comes with a plethora of advantages. Probably going to pickup CRAWL as well, a very different type of game yet from all indications just as WILD for 4 player local (or Parsec online) parties! I have only played the campaign, and I must say it is EXCELLENT! (4 difficulty levels +40 missions) So this is a super stellar game for anywhere from 1-4 players IMO. Add to the fact that the dev team only consisted of two I believe, and that just makes this one of the very best indie games out there. HIGHLY recommended :) I streamed it at the highest res it could go (2K?) yet if you wanted to use Magpie freeware you could upscale any of the resolutions you like to 4K+ if you have the hardware for it.
Only two games I know of with SIMILAR mechanics that have done this type of genre so perfectly. I would rate THIS title, and Stories From The Outbreak as two pixelated master pieces. The great things about these games is that you can get them to run on just about anything from a smart toaster to a huge rig with all the latest attachments pretty much bug free. Also the system requirements/resources are barely a spec so you can do other tasks in the background if you have more than a potato. All in all super highly recommended on sale, or even at full price for those with cash to burn. Best store to purchase from is always GOG, yet Epic (with LEGENDARY = as close to GOG as you can get) or even steam CAN be acceptable at times, depending.
To think I had hesitation before buying, and even after buying in crazy. This is the best sub sim I own...the detail is insane. I WILL MAKE THIS SHORT You can have it ultra complex, or easy as it gets. Now that is a kind of difficulty setting I can get into. The training missions are insanely well done, and teach you everything. YET THE CHERRY ON THE CAKE IS. I can basically uninstall Silent Hunter 3&4, and I have the ULTRA DELUXE version of that, the Sea Wolves Mod, etc. Still compared to this THEY ARE trash for modern systems IMO. Best part of that is I can play without that STUPID UBIsoft client running :)YAY GOG is always superior, and DRM FREE is pure joy for ease of use!
Does a lot of thing right. Runs great on just about any system. Just mindless shooting with a bit of strategy thrown in tactics wise.
Well, if you want to throw some money at the devs and get pretty much a slap for it. This would be your package. Honestly the base game IS SUPERB< I reviewed it at 5/5 and it deserves every bit of it. Yet this DLC is also being rated fairly by myself. I just don't get it. Yet it is what it is, better than lacking any DLC I guess (yet to me that would be a toss up). Do pickup the base game on sale, the game is super well made / adorable.
