I could not progress in this game!!! Lochmacher's review sums it up nicely!!!
The game is clearly broken, even after applying the Arx Libertatis mod!!! The UI is fighting you, every step of the way, you can easily get into "Dead Man Walking" situations, and it's horribly unbalanced. Procced with extreme caution, and with lots of maps and walkthroughs!!!!!
The game is hard even on easy settings. Not challenging but unforgivingly unfair!! Even thought it is described as a WWII Real Time Tactics games, it a puzzle game in fact, since there are a handful of approaches to complete each stage. The idea behind it is great, but it clearly needed another round of playtesting, in order to balance its difficulty. Great concept, but the game does not respect you valuable time.
Parkan: The Imperial Chronicles, is a very rough 90's gem from Russia. It's an open world Space Combat Flight Sim, with First Person Shooter elements. What sets this game apart from similar games of the day, is the planet/base exploration element. The idea behind the game is ambitious, but the execution leaves much to be desired, due to the limits of the technology of the time, and the lack of quality control. If we lived still in the 90's and the game had better quality control, this would be a 5 star blockbuster game. Now days it seems that two stars are more than enough.
