Brigador: Up-Armored Edition

The Mech+ Game I didn't know I wanted

It's like Mechwarrior and Hotline Miami had a baby that grew up to be an isometric shooter and it's beautiful. The vehicles (mechs, tanks, power armor, hovercraft) and weapons (laser, railguns, mortars, machine guns, howitzers) are awesome and the gameplay is frantic and challenging without being frustrating. Even when you fail, it makes you want to try over and over again with different weapon and vehicle combos, because it's just so much fun. And the music, look, and overall asthetic of the game absolutely crushes it in all its stompy, gritty industrial, cyberpunk glory.

Steel Division 2

Best WWII RTS to Date

People have a lot of valid criticisms of this game. It definitely needs a map editor, so the community can better flesh that element, and all the Western Front/ETO content is basically worthless imo with no Western Front Army General Campaigns, historical battles, or even maps. All that said, if, like me, you're less interested in competitive multiplayer, and more interested in Army General, historical battles, or skirmishes in single player or co-op with friends, and you're interested in the Eastern Front of WWII, then there is not a better game out there. If you want Western Front stuff, I'd recommend just picking up Steel Division: Normandy 44. It's still a fantastic game, though sadly neglected since SD2.
