The quick battles remain as thrilling as ever — armies clashing in dark, gothic landscapes, with quirky voice acting that adds to the atmosphere. It’s not about base-building like other RTS titles, but about commanding brutal fantasy clashes, one wrong turn against other players, and the decent AI in skirmish the outcome pivots quickly. On GOG, the game runs well once forced to a dedicated GPU on Win 11, and being DRM-free makes it easy to enjoy again. One note: the included version is missing support for the map editor that was an option for the original US retail release from my research on ModDB. That editor config appears to hint at things like 8-player battles and scenario tweaks — which would be a massive addition if restored. I’ve opened a thread on the forum about this for anyone interested in technical details or helping explore a fix. Overall, this is a fantastic and unique RTS worth picking up — and with GOG’s support, it could become even better.
