Descent: Freespace Battle Pack

Surprisingly fun game. A solid classic.

Surprisingly fun game. A solid classic. My only gripe is that it's often unclear whether you lost a mission or whether there was a scripted loss. But overall, this game is very enjoyable, it's up there with the best space fighter simulations.

Thief™ Gold

I f@%$king LOOOOOVE this game

This is one of my all-time favorites... The art design... The bizarre, eerie, lore-filled, terrifying, enveloping WORLD...Whole religions created, skeptics, drunkards, sinister magical creatures that may or may not be devils... Endless mysteries full of details that may or may not be relevant... The tight, intense gameplay... The three challening difficulty levels, with the hardest one being No Harm to Anyone... And finally. The SOUND, good GODS, the SOUND in this game is so perfect.. Holy @#% this is the best game ever. Everything just ROCKS! Just seeing the logo makes me feel 12 years old again. LOVE IT!

Rayman 2: The Great Escape

Eh

Play this game, and then play "Psychonauts", and tell me which is better. This game is crisp, it has good music, refreshing feel, but....Eh. You are just running around trying to jump and get hard-to-reach things. That's it.

Psychonauts

Amaaaaaaaaaaazing game

This game has it all... -Great fleshed-out story and characters, both cute, funny, and memorable -Graphics are focused on art instead of realism, which is KEY in any video game -Addictive level-up progression by collecting items (Somehow, it's not frustrating at all!) -Ridiculously, RIDICULOUSLY intelligent, creative, just plain FUN levels. The "Milkman Conspiracy" level and the "Black Velvet" level are utterly amazing, there is nothing like these in ANy other video game anywhere This game is insanely fun. Once I started it, I couldn't do anything in my free time but play this game for 3 days. I got my character to level 96...and I still want more!! This game just blows away 99% of others...SO GOOD!

Might and Magic® 8: Day of the Destroyer™

Great, Classic M&M Fun

Just beat the game using 4 characters. This game is classic M&M fun, beginning to end. Plenty of quests, nice nonlinear gameplay, fun hidden treasures, a nice long leveling-up curve that will take you about 50 hours to complete. Good times for anyone who likes might & magic. The bad news? It's still essentially just MM6. Nothing new. The story is fun but not mind-blowing. Otherwise, though, it's good solid fun. So if you like Might & Magic, or just like good old classic RPGs, grab this one. You aren't on GoG.com for the grapihcs, so I know you'll enjoy it :) My Tips: -Don't use the dragon characters, they are too easy and take no skills. -Try beating the game with parties of 4, 3, 2, and 1 person, for extra fun. -The #1 way to increase your weapon speed is (a) GM Armsmaster skill - makes huge difference, and (b) GM your armor to eliminate speed penalty. Herald's Boots (of Speed) are always good, too. -The best artifacts are: Snake (sword that causes powerful slow effect), Guardian (halberd with lots of damage), Herald's Boots, Supreme Plate, Noblebone Bow (shoots fireballs for 20-30 damage!). The very first time you come across a full-fledged dragon (named, "dragon", "flight leader" or "great wyrm"), kill it, then multi-loot to get the artifacts you want (ie save and reload every time you loot multiple times). -Halberds are actually "spears" in terms of skills. So your Knight should GM both spear and sword, then just pump points into armsmaster. My knight Anna was attacking twice per second for 120-180 damage by the end of the game--awesome.

Baldur's Gate 2 Complete

One of the best games of all time.

One of the best games of all time. I saw this as a gamer who's been around. There are many reasons: The game is incredibly deep and complex--yet it never is so big that it seems pointless. You can explore the entire world...yet you can also do everything without spending years on the game. Huge, huge depth in character interactions. The story is not really emotional like the Final Fantasy games but it's very compelling nonetheless. Excellent depth in character customization. Allows for many, many play styles. I played through with 6 characters, then later with just 1. Both times the game changed to fit the play style, both times were extremely fun. The game environment constantly changes based on your play choices. This adds huge replayability. -Great music and background art. -A great balance of fighting, negotiation, character development, romance, and plot development. It's never a grind. -The number one reason: In this game there are a lot of fights..but EVERY SINGLE FIGHT has a STORY behind it. There is not a SINGLE other computer game that matches this incredibly simple concept. This is what makes the game truly great.

Total Annihilation: Commander Pack

A decent, if dated, RTS

Highs: Tons of different units and ways to play, many different ways to crush your enemy, realistic physics, units gain experience, unlimited command queing (it works much better than in any other RTS game!), interesting maps with strategy-changing features. Really fun multi-play. Lows: The two sides are basically the same. the only difference is appearnces and slight cost differences. There is no plot. Bottom line: a fun RTS game, well balanced and with a variety of cool features, but shows its age with lack of faction diversity.
