This and Viscerafest are two best in dev retro-ish FPS titles of 2021. Lovecraft would be proud, Yes it is sort of linear-ish gun blazing affair but it's very good already with very nice presentation* and immersive semi-horror atmosphere. Guns, being meat of the game, even the basic ones feel great and have use middle of the game with very neat unlocking "choose one loose one" branching system. Other additional skill abilities are also nice and feel "right" and theme-consistent. Audio is great. *gamedev art guy's nitpicking comes here: Darkest Dungeon style enemies' thick lined art might be not everyone's cup of tea (mine wasn't till I actually played the game) and there are some visual inconsistencies -my personal gripe being too frequent use of bloom effect stands as out of place in certain areas (town windows etc). So are certain 3D scenery elements/props like occasional bed or piping, especially when the shading gets broken. You'll know when you see it. Also at least 4-directional enemy sprites would also be neat to have.
