Planet of Lana

A great throwback to the classics

Planet of Lana is a beautifully realized puzzle platformer that harkens back to games of old and VERY old. It reminded me, of course, of Playdead's Limbo and Inside, but also Eric Chahi's Another World (Out of This World) and Starbreeze's Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. My only issues with the game are the simple puzzles that never become difficult (may be a positive for some) and the poorly implemented and non-rebindable keyboard controls.

Coromon

Fine Monster Tamer

If you want to collect cute monsters, then this is a great game. Otherwise, Coromon is stuck in the shadow of Pokemon. I expect Pokemon clones to do one of two things; either set themselves apart with unique and interesting mechanics, or improve on the things the originals did. This game seems at most to be on par with Pokemon (such as with the story and art) or behind it (lack of double battle and other mechanics, less diverse seeming movelists). On top of this, the game is very easy, even on insane difficulty, right up until near then end when type matchups basically don't matter and the game goes from a boring slog to a painful one.
