Amazing strategy game! I am not a huge fan of the genre but I am a huge Metal Slug fan, having played all the arcade games and 1CC'd a few of them. This game captures the spirit of the series so well. It has awesome graphics, decent music, and excellent gameplay. It can be a little overwhelming at first, but you could that about every Metal Slug game! Keep at it and soon you'll be tearing up the enemies. The synch attacks are a lot of fun, and each character's moveset has been well thought out. I appreciate the achievements support too. Hopefully there will be some DLC levels down the line. Recommended, even for non-genre fans.
I loved every part of this game. Beautiful pixel graphics, excellent music, a fun combat system, interactions that are fun and those that tug at the heart. That said, a word of caution, I do not believe the game is for everyone. I grew up playing Landstalker on the Megadrive and so the isometric view feels very natural to me. I have read some people have difficulty with the aspect though and find it hard to judge some of the jumps. Te combat system involving shooting may difficult for some too. For me though, it is one of the best RPGs in recent memory and well worth purchasing!
A masterpiece. Amazing dialogue an a story with some great twists and turns. There is no wrong answer as such, and each path will lead to it's own story. I really enjoyed the voice acting too. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will come back to it again no doubt.
I am mainly writing this to counter the one star review, which I do not agree with. Yes, this is not SOR4. But it does not claim to be. It is it's own game and it is rather good. I have played tons of beat em ups. The game was released at the same time as a certain other beat em up featuring 4 green amphibians. I bought both at release on another platform, and played Final Vendetta twice as much. It can seem punishing at first, and has an element of cheapness, but all can be overcome with practice. I had a lot of fun with the game and, if you are a fan of the genre, I am sure you will too. Watch some videos online - you will see what the game is about and if it appeals to you.
This is a platformer with very simple controls - a button for jump and a button for dash. The graphics are great. It's like something from Adventure Time with its psychedelic images and vibrant colors. Cool music too. I've played through the first half of the game - it was fun and not overly taxing. I have read in some reviews that the second half becomes much more difficult, so be warned. It's quite obvious the game was made with speedrunning in mind. Whilst I enjoy watching speedrunning, I do not like partaking. It's too stressful for me. Thankfully, I can still enjoy this game as a basic platformer. There are items to collect on each level if you so wish. Dying does not end the game and merely brings you back to a check point where you can try again. My biggest negative with the game were the boss fights. Whilst they can be fairly fun, they are quite repetitive and somewhat lack imagination, with all the bosses very similar (at least on the first three levels). I played this with a wired DS4 and it worked fine. My Mad Catz TE2+ had issues though. Control binding also seems limited to jump and dash - I did not see an ability to change directions keys. TL;DR: If you like games such as Celeste and Super Meat Boy, and are a fan of Adventure Time, then this should be right up your street. Fun and well worth the 10 bucks.
An excellent game for newcomers and veterans alike. My experience with shmups is more with older style retro games. This is one of the new breed of bullet hell with a busy screen, explosions galore, high-scoring numbers and colorful bullets everywhere! It seems overwhelming, but you get used to it quick. Novice mode is challenging but a 1cc is absolutely doable. I did mine after about 8 hours of playing and it was exhilarating. The game has a wide variety of modes, including Time Attack, Boost and Original. There is a very good training mode too, that allows you to practice stages and stage bosses. At the start, there are three different ship to choose from, each with different characteristics. A fourth and powerful ship can be unlocked after collecting a certain amount of medals. The game explains its system very well at the beginning of a playthrough. You ship has a regular wide shot, and a laser that does huge damage. The laser can only be activated once its meter is full. You can bomb once your meter is about 20% full, though the more you use the bomb, the higher percentage requirement gets. This can be reset by picking up items from defeated bosses (you can choose between meter gain, more medals, bomb reset or, in novice mode only, an extra life) If you like shooting games, I absolutely recommend this. If you haven't played many bullet hell shmups but wish to learn, I also highly recommend this game and start with Novice mode. If you're looking for a casual playthrough, the game can still be fun, but to get the most out of it, I recommend challenging yourself and not credit feeding (continually continuing). It's a skill-based game and pactice will be required to get good.
