Ashes 2063

The best TC for Doom you will ever play.

Calling this a doom mod does it an injustice. Sells it short, soils its impact. Make no mistake, this is a standalone experience with the length of a full game. It stands on its own two feet distinct from its platform it was built upon. This is a love letter to dystopia Sci-Fi films from the 70's through 90's, and post-apocalyptic games and literature overall. Basically, a love letter to everything i grew up with. The gameplay is a good mix of mechanics from Doom, Duke 3D, and elements from the Stalker and Fallout series'. The story is not as shallow as you'd expect, it unravels as you go on. The world is HEAVILY inspired by post-apocalyptic fiction such as Mad Max, Escape from New York, Night of the Comet. The soundtrack screams Carpenter but truly has its own identity despite many of the tracks deriving from Doom's original music. Very synthy, groovy, and ominous at times. The game has plenty of horror elements that help the game drip in atmosphere, which is nuts consider this is a doom-engine game. Harder to make that immersive. Start with 2063 and work your way up. It's still being actively developed. I canNOT recommend this enough!
