BATTLETECH - Urban Warfare

Corrupt saved games and crash festival

I loved the original game when it came out. Didn't have any problems, no crashes, no corrupt saves. Then the expansions and its been one crash after another. I haven't even been able to play the urban warfare because my save games are corrupt. I hit continue career and the screen loads and comes up like a blurry water color painting and the game is unresponsive. Tried a fresh game install, video card driver install, deleted saved game folder and still doesn't work. Have contacted customer support and all I get is "send us a Direct X file, we see you are running a ultrawide monitor change your resolution. Really at wits end. I guess I will make all my purchases from steam from now on. At least I can get a refund from steam. Two more things. If modders can add a mindblowing amount of content for free and make basic game play more efficient and streamlined, what is the point of spending money for this content and GOG you should really fix your review system. Give us a way to update our reviews.

BATTLETECH - Digital Deluxe Content

Unity Engine crash after crash

Got the game and played through twice on the campaign. Bought the expansion and its been one crash after another. Try playing career mode and get 15 turns into a mission and getting that head shot that turns the tide of the battle in your favor and CRASH!!!!! Sent in my direct x log to support and was told"yeah we know there's a problem reduce your resolution maybe that will help." It didnt. Now in order to play career mode i have to exit and reload the game roughly every 5 turns and pray i dont get wrapped up in the battle and forget save. This game never crashed before the expansion. So the few positives. The modeling of the mechs is great. The mechanics are pretty good. 40 to 60 percent damage reduction for standing in trees? Also 3 waves of mechs (thats 9-12 mechs of equal tonnage against my 4) ok.... If you get lucky and this game runs without crashing, it is fun and enjoyable. Just dont expect any kind of support from gog or the developer. I tried all the possible fixes i found in the forums including on steam and no luck. cheers!

BATTLETECH - Flashpoint

The Sky is falling. Nope thas a dropship

The pros: Its still an enjoyable game. The few new mechs added are a plus. The tweaks they did with skills and targeting are good. The cons: 1. Random missions where drop ships land on your mechs at the end of the mission, crushing your mech and putting your main character in the med bay for 90 days. If your going to have dropships land at the end of the misson there should be an identified area to avoid/stay out of. I have ptdz disorder when I see the dropship fly in and the end of the misison. 2. Flashpoint missions are ridiculously hard. Example. protect the base buildings. First round before you move, the enemy from outside weapons range levels 3 of the 6 buildings and the enemy lance mech tonnage out weighs you by 60 tons not including the multiple vehilce reinforcments. This was supposed to be a difficulty rating of 2 1/2 atlas heads. I like a challenge but seriously. Summary: Not terrible and Not great either. Need more mechs. Expand the galaxy map to include more houses.

BATTLETECH + Shadowrun Returns

Needs a good spit shine

So for the most part I have enjoyed the game, the graphics are good, the mech modeling is good and have yet to have any crashes of glitches that ive seen other people mention. Would be nice to customize the mechs more. The travel between systems is not very streamlined. Not sure what they were thinking when they dont give you a fast forward button on the day timer. Do we really need to wait for the ship to go to the jump ship and then jump and then continue the travel to the planet. This part wasnt well thought out. Ive played through several campaign missions and the one thing that sticks out in my mind is the WTF moments in the missions. If you dont make the right decision in the first 1 to 3 turns in the game you might as well reload and restart the mission. Also, melee attack are ridicoulously OP. Enemy vehicles can absorb amazing amounts of damage in one mission and then get one shot the next mission with the same amount of armor. The AI almost never misses on called shots when your mech is knocked down. Lets not forget the turrets that can hit you from across the map when your mech is behind mountains, out of line of sight with uncanny accuracy. I just rage quit my mission this morning due to turrets on the oppisite side of the map shredding two heavy mechs that were behind a mountain with no line of sight. LOL Lets hope they have more additional content with lots of improvements. This game has lots of potential, just needs more spit and polish.
