100% fun

I like puzzle games in general, but this one is by far the one I love most. In the 132 hours I spent with it I enjoyed every minute. There wasn't a single thing that made me consider whether it's worth the price. I bought it at a discount, but it's easily worth the full price and more. The other comments already point out the many good things, but when I look at comments, I always watch out for things that others didn't like, because that gives a stronger indication of how I will like to play it or not. So here are the very few things that bothered me (and that is already a strong word to use for this game): - No undo function. I've used pause quite a lot, because placing a track incorrectly can cost you quite a lot, and sometimes you simply don't have the cash for that! The game would feel smoother if it would allow to undo at least the most recent build order! - and ... that's it! :-) Purchase, and enjoy the game - you won't regret it.

DRM free only up to version 2.3.3

Version 2.4 is tied to the new version of the Paradox Launcher which requires registering at Paradox. By definition, that's DRM. On the plus side, the new launcher finally allows cloud saving, which didn't work before. The game is good, and I like playing it. But GOG should be honest about the current version not being DRM free!

Galactic Civilizations III: Crusade Expansion Pack

GOG only offers half the game!

The game is good, there are plenty of reviews on its qualities (and drawbacks) already. However, the game as GOG offers it is only half the deal: Stardock has long abondoned selling Crusade as an expansion and bundles it with the base game. GOG does not: instead it requires you to buy the Crusade expansion separately, which isn't even available anywhere else! Effectively, you only get half the game, and because of that, a massively buggy game: Stardock has been releasing tons of updates and fixes, but since they started bundling Crusade with the base game, they no longer appear to be supporting the original base game as much as they used to. This leads to broken technologies, broken race abilities, and massively unbalanced game elements, because everything keeps being changed with disregard to people who do not own the Crusade Expansion. If you want to play the game and actually have fun with it, you can choose to buy the game here, disable automatic updates, and accept the flawy of the original release, or you can choose to buy Crusade as well - but in that case you'll get a much better deal at Stardock or Steam. I'd rate this game at 4 stars, but because I got only half of it, it's two from me.
