The only problem I've with this game is the 3D graphic option: it makes the computer crash. A joystick is REQUIRED for 1998 version, not for the previous ones but it's strongly recomended. The games itself is beautyful, played on hard difficulty (exp. chapter V) can be a real, real pain but that's the nice part ! I prefer tie vs x-wing because there are lot of functions, missions are pretty understandable (a lack of x-wing). A great classics, fully worthy for a try
I played NWN on the main quest years ago, I loved the game but unfortunately I've lost the installation disks somewhere, so I was not unable to play the other modules when I uninstalled it after playing the main quest. I had opportunities to play it online and it was pretty cool. Now, seeing it on GOG I didn't think more than 10 seconds: I've bought it again and I played it with the same curiosity and passion of years ago. I hope to see NWN2 here, since I've never played it.
I bought this game long time ago with a friend. We used to play a lot with other friends too (it was funny, the player in turn was at the pc, the others were in another room waiting, looking at other player's movies meaned the ban). I suddenly fell in love also with single player campaign & maps, since the gaming mechanism is very easy to learn but you've got to keep a good strategy at higher levels against the pc gamers :)
The first postal was killing without thinking, just a massacre. Postal 2 is surely more ambitious and various, but the game is really overwhelmed by a lot of bugs and at the end after playing to it some hours it results less various than its brother. Anyway, at this price you should try it
I've always heard about Postal series, but i've never played it. So, finding the Running w.s. catalogue on GOG I gave it a try. The game is really dated (more dated than Syndicate, for example) and controls are not easy. The gaming mechanism is simple and straight, and funny indeed. Evil fun, maybe, but I agree with the quote "computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music". Postal, six years after its release, still offers 20-30 minutes of mere fun without head-aching enigmas, invulnerable monsters and so on. I can't play it for more than twenty minutes, cause it becomes boring, but the game deserves a try.
Duke Nukem 3D is a milestone in FPS games. The gameplay was quite funny, scenarios detailed and weapons very strange & various. But the Duke himself is the funniest figure in an action game ever. Quotes from Nuke's mouth are still the best. So "Guess again, freakshow. I'm coming back to town, and the last thing that's gonna go through your mind before you die... is my size- 13 boot!"
