Fallout: London

Needs patching yet is still compelling

I had to install Buffout 4 mod to fix crashes after the beginning section with the train crash. Afterwards the game has ran mostly fine aside from a handful of crashes (1 per 5 hours or so), with everything on ultra except shadow distance which was set to medium. In addition, these is a bug with HP being reduced too much after the train crash, which can be corrected with a console command thankfully. Given this a mod and not an actual game, I can't hold these sorts of technical issues against it too much, not when the actual gameplay has been interesting. The British setting is interesting, with decent quest design for the most part and unique atmosphere. Writing is decent to good, depending on quest. Game is difficult at start, with scarse ammo and enemies that you don't want to necessarily fight. Combat at early parts of the game is as much about resource conservation as it is about killing enemies. Melee and headshots are essential. Later on, guns can be used more freely once you have access to some storage and a reloading bench to make ammo. Still, given the various issues and bugs, I'd recommend anyone on the fence wait for a few months for patches and fixes to be released rather than grapple with bugs and broken features.
