some of the mechanics (eg Magic, levelling etc) take a bit of getting used to. I bought the game on disc about 8 months ago and discovered the WORLD'S WORST DRM. Once you register the game on their site you were able to play the game...once. Next time you had to, beleive it or don't - RE-REGISTER, Every time!!!!!!!! (That was my experiene.. which I tolerated about half a dozen times.) After that I simply uninstalled the game and put it into the "also-rans". I didn't think it was a bad game, just that the DRM p*ssed me off, utterly. If GOG haven't had this fixed, I won't buy (for the expansion)

Back when i owned an Amiga my two favourite games were 'Eye of the Beholder' and 'Black Crypt'. I lovede the combination of combart and puzzle solve, occasionally thrown at you at the same time. (Hint to GOG - PLEEZE Get "Black Crypt'!!! Like, ASAP!) I prepurchased L.O.G. purely because of the gameplay promised. I am NOT disappointed, even though I'm still stuck on how to get the Magic to actually work. The Potions I've mastered, those $^$%^&^*& Runes elude me. Unlike others I prefer to have a Map available. I tend to get lost if I have to " FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES! THERES 3 OF THE BASTIDS IN THERE!!!" Result, the last monster catches me before I find the last refuge spot, mapless. I am liking this game, a lot. Its not the best game ever, but is pretty darn good. (the 4 star is cos of my issue with magic runes. How in hey DO they work?)
