Nice innovative story frame, if 90% less voiced dialogue than TQ. Allso, load screen is more frequent than the story so "Chest hair for Dessert" would be a more fitting game title. Had they put more focus on combat animations and PLAYER skill, and used less of that never ending filler trick of CONSTANT! loot drops- the game would've felt more fun. It allso feels like the classes don't contribute to varied gameplay- the loot does all that, even providing a vide range of skills-- yet everything you pick up becomes irrelevant with the next hour. All you do is compare item numbers to item numbers, press a spell and clickclickclick yourway towards the end. Lots to explore though, it's a huge world that will take you dozens of hours to beat. Feels bigger than TitanQuest plus expansions.
Scary AND fun for this 13yo back then, NOX managed to not be a knockoff to Diablo. The game makes perfect use of sound, music, light/dark dynamics and field of fiew limitations to deliver very intence atmopshere. It has a physics engine that enhances the sence of power from explosions and allso allows for objects to be moved around for tactical purposes and puzzles. Game can be really challenging but features quick save/quick load so it can be forgivable if you let it. You hold mouse2 for the protagonist to move. Slide it further from him and he starts running. Space to jump over obstacles. Attack with mouse1, cast spells with ASDFG(5 new quickslot bars as you mouse scroll).
