Kind of glad I didn't give a review when I first (tried to) played... What a difference with the new "DLC" with its plethora of optimizations and bug fixes makes!!! Such a technical steop forward from the initial launch. Only about 20 hours into a new playthrough, but I can say that it runs well - better than vanilla Fallout 4, anyway! One crash, and it kindly left an exitsave when it did. Not sure if that is now a thing in Fallout, but either way it is so much better than at release! Not perfect, though. Thamehaven Market has an unbelievable stutter. But it is steady enough in the stuttering that it doesn't induce motion sickness like F4 can in downtown Boston! That is the only memorable technical problem so far. And it is managable, imho. The gameplay is smooth. The new assetts are great - love the FNV inspired stuff! New weapons look good, have nice unique animations and pretty good sound effects. Clothing is... well, it is. Not terrible, but not any better looking than F4, and in some cases not as nice (opinion, so take it for what its worth). More variety in clothing and underarmor clothes - nice in itself. The DLC added some stuff, and it is, so far, pretty handy (no specifics so as to avoid spoilers). Might make the game, or at least the early game, easier or at least less tedious. All in all, I am impressed! It is now an enjoyable play. The crahing has been minimized. The noticable in-game bugs have also. If you tried this before and gave up, try it again! You'll likely enjoy it much more. Or at least be able to form an honest opinion of the gameplay. I'm still early going, so all this could change, but the forst impressions are good... good enough to almost erase the memories of FoL's release.
