Coromon

pokemon but not lazy!

well, as the title suggests, its exactly like the old school pokemon but has so much more to it. the "shiny" system is so much more thought out and expanded on. there are 3 levels of what they call "potent" that each come with their own color scheme. and within each leve, is another number rating system. so one encounter can be "normal 7" and the next could be "normal 14". and there is an NPC that allows tou to increace that number rating by at least one so the "normal 14" could be changed to a "potent" im only 5 hours into coromon as of writing this buut the story seems cute and fun, seems to have a bunch of cool little gadgets and gizmos to collect and use. no more needing to teach a random critter "cut" to get into a new section because its part of your personal gauntlet system now. the game seems to have a good challenge to it also. playing on normal even has proven to be just enough to cause one to think about strategy. where in pokemon, i could easily brute force my way through areas even with a severe type disavantage. i have loved the pokemon series for a LONG time now but given the poor consumer practices they have developed, i kinda stopped supporting them. between poor performance of some titles, the insane amount of "copy pasting", and gust headscratching decisions, iv given up on them, BUT THIS! this scratches an itch i didnt know i had. it keeps in line with that old childhood feel while modernising most of it. this would be a great title for a steamdeck to take on the go!
