Story has been matured up without alienating the OG fanbase. Sarah is no longer a damsel in distress that you get in bed after a chivalric save, you see more into your comrades' lives and how they feel, overall tidied up and more mature story for sure. Graphics and music are fantastic. They even paid the attention to driving that was in the OG title, even the racing mission is similarly difficult. Has been very pleasant revisiting Lost Heaven after years. My only gripe is the lack of steering wheel support. You cannot add "realistic" driving option but leave steering wheel support out. Original game had it and it used to be a pleasure just driving around doing cab gigs around the town using a wheel with force feedback and everything. Well, modern times, I guess.
I am fairly foreign to roguelite, dungeon crawler type of games. Played Hades, Risk of Rain etc. in the past, loved the genre and wanted to get deeper into it. Moonlighter really charmed me, from the first moment I saw how the character was designed and animated. Gave me a wide smile, I don't know why. Gameplay is really enticing. Shopkeeping minigame is really engaging, dungeon part is also fun. Enemy variety is satisfying so far and I am sure there will be even more variety as further dungeons are unlocked. Experimenting with different weapons and armor types is always exciting. There are interesting mechanics like secrets in caves and town/shop upgrades etc. Overall wonderful game. Considering it has new game+ mode as well, looks like I'll be spending quite some more time on this game.
