The dynamic between balancing similarities of hollow knight and creating new gameplay is done spectacularly. The gameplay feels refreshing yet familiar, probably due to the brand new moveset. Silksong doesn't follow the general direction of sequals of brand new graphics slapped on the same game with a slight change in maps. It creates a whole new game where everything exept the art style and the controls, are vastly different, ranging from new interactions with mobs to how the player interacts with the environment. It also introduces a different method of leveling up. Without spoiling content of the game, ill say it provides the player with such a vast option in gameplay, which allows the player much more freedom in tackling problems. However, one possible negative (or a positive depending on your preference) factor of the game is that everything is more intuitive, such as quests, where its logged by default to the inventory which reminds the player of the quests. Another point is that the story seems more linear, where chapters are presented during the game, but considering I haven't finished the game, i would be reluctant to comment further on this point.
