As someone who has never really played true JRPGs aside from your usual RPG-like Pokemon, Fallout, etc., this classic is a refreshing take that holds up today. If you played games in the 90s or 2000s, you will appreciate the simplicity of these old games that relied on story, basic mechanics, and a great soundtrack. The price is fair at $10 and it's worth playing in 2025. It reminds us of a time when imagination was key in the game experience, developers had passion, and new series emerged left and right. A time when online gaming was not commonplace and easygoing single player runs were the norm. It runs great on a 4K monitor with a 4:3 aspect ratio with an Xbox Series controller. You certainly won't feel rushed playing this game and it helps reset your game mentality from a modern era of chasing the next big $70 game or online match.
