if you like Battletech, you must play this game. The storyline is compelling, the game mechanics are extremely well designed. Not perfect. But well designed. The BTA (aka BTA3062) expansion has an insanely steep learning curve. But once you learn it, it's even more detailed than the base. Both are worth your time, and that's a lot to say about a video game.
"ten bucks for a mod to a 23 year old game" says the whiner child, this isn't "just some mod". this is "the sequel we all wanted and never got." The guy that wrote this "just some mod" is the same guy that wrote several of the other mods you've played and enjoyed for free. As far as I'm concerned he's entitled to whatever scraps of cash we can give him. If he did nothing the rest of his life but write mods and release them every year or so, and they were good, storytelling mods like this one is, GREAT. Is it perfect? No. Are ANY of them? No. Worth every penny. And if you don't like it, guess what, GOG will refund your money. What more do you want?
this game originally came out in 2001 or so and it's still going strong and people are writing new content for it. There's not much more you can say about it than that.
I'm aware that there are people who don't like this game. All I can say is that the Neverwinter PC game series has tons of player content. They wouldn't do that if they didn't like the game.
X: Rebirth crippled this company. They don't care any more. All they're doing is trying to pump out a few more bucks. If they cared they'd beg Roguey (IYKYK) to come on board and fix this mess. There's a reason this game is so poorly reviewed. What hurts is that the X series was TERRIFIC up until Rebirth. Ever since then it's been marginal at best.
I haven't even finished it, it's so complex I keep starting over and enjoying it every time
