Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood - Deluxe Edition

Needs Better Hints

This does look like a beautiful game to play sadly it is lacking in explaining how to play it. I am currently at the first Fox door, where I am told that I have to touch the runes in the right order before the time runs out. This would be okay; I'm used to timed puzzles. What is NOT okay is that the game offers no insight into how to interact with the runes! I have tried pressing the action button nothing, I have tried clicking on the buttons nothing and I have tried to click on the corresponding runes nothing! How anybody is supposed to get through this game without the most basic of instructions is beyond me.

Phantasmagoria

Great game from yesteryear

I first played this game back when it first came out in 1995 and loved the way the tale was told, I think it was the game that might have first made Sierra a name that stuck in my mind. Totally fun and more creepy than horrific just as I like my horror movies...needless to say I bougtht the CD version of Shivers shortly after (I must get around to buying it from GOG as well)

Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition

Better than I thought it was going to be

This game is so awesome! Beautiful detailed graphics, amazing storyline worthy of any Hollywood script and foraging can mean the difference between life or death!...did I mention how amazing the machines are and so varied?

Dracula 4+5

How did this end up in the series?

I remember playing Dracula Resurrection when it first came out for PC and I was left wondering WOW! DR felt as if it could have been written by Stoker himself and seem well researched, I played the sequels over the years, I don't remember completing D3 but since I got these games as part of the deal that came with this game, I intend to try to complete it this time around, now that brings me to my whole problem with D4, throughout DR-D3 Dracula is a constant threat, you constantly feel that he is looking over your shoulder and could leap out and bite your neck at any moment, which for a point and click puzzle solving series of games is quite an accomplishment in itself, and due to DR-D3 we have an a mythos that has long been built up, sadly in this game the Dracula we know and love to fear simply doesn't appear, this is just the story of an investigator tracking down a painting and even when she finds the painting, the twist just seems to ruin the classics that have gone before it, no I'm sorry but in my book this game does not hold up well to its predecessors and considering I completed it in an afternoon, I feel the creators could have put in a lot more effort than this pulp fiction style of game.

Uplink: Hacker Elite

Highly Addictive

Back in my college days I use to quite often hack into the college infrastructure, there was a small group of us who had fun doing this, a little community grew hacking into those old BBS systems, this game had great nostalgia for me. As addictive as it is frustrating, one false move, and its game over and you have to start over from scratch, but with that said its great fun and I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it before, do not make the mistake of over looking this game, least you find yourself with a revelation

Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy)

Hidden Gem

I had never heard of Fahrenheit or Indigo Prophecy until it was offered in the summer sale here at GOG, considering the low price I got this at, I feel I would have been happy to pay full price for it, only the QTEs spoil it for me, I was able to keep up until a fight scene near the end, as for the story, I must say I disagree with a lot of others on here, the whole of it makes sense within the plot of the story, a rare gem which was a joy to play, until the last third of the game which I must admit I had to use a trainer to be able to bypass the QTEs

Gemini Rue

Quite a pleasant surprise

OK let me make this clear the only place this game loses a point is in the annoying combat system, other than that, this is exactly the reason why I like to buy games made by the Wadjet eye factory (I own the entire blackwell range) gripping story, retro graphics and awesome music, to sum up, the way PC games USED to be made in the good old days of Sierra, LucusArts and the like

Alan Wake's American Nightmare

Wasted my money again

Bought both of these in the sale and I'm sorry to say even though this was easier on my laptop, they just don't port well to the PC, I can imagine them been pretty good to play on a console, they certainly have the edge of a good survival horror, but on the PC the aiming just doesn't respond the way that you would like it to. I just so wish that whoever ported these had put a bit of consideration into ease of use because they do look stunning, just near impossible to play, think I'll go and watch them played by somebody else on youtube!

Alan Wake

Total waste of money

eeeewwww and urrrggghhhh!!! the controls were clumsy to say the least, I was told that the laptop I bought only last April did not meet specs, like what???!!!!! top range computer that has been known to handle even the entire Assassin's creed range not good enough for this piece of rubbish? Within the first ten minutes I got killed several times, camera/mouse swung about too much for me to be able to work out what I was doing, all in all the game is horrible to play and I can't believe I wasted nearly 24 hours waiting for this thing to download! This is the first time I have ever encountered such issues with a game from GOG, I'm a big GOG follower, but this to me was very disappointing, might work better on a console but for now this gets a very big thumbs down from me
