When I see a remake for Soul reaver, I take it with high curiosity. I played SR1 perhaps 3 times and SR2 only one time. Installed in Linux Mint 22 with Wine. Work perfectly (need perhaps some DLL library) without any bugs. Well, as first impression, the game has graphic upgraded and is now more modern, even today. New models for all characters and textures for most scenery (not all of seem). However, it seem to lack updated sprites for special effects (blood, magic, water, ...) so the remake leave a unfinished taste. Too bad because the graphic overhaul change drastically the game experience and this is the only drawback I saw. Another notables novelties, a world map. Useful for general location reference but a mini map would be more interesting, The lost levels seem to have only a sort of museum purpose. Also a lot of concept art and artworks, that's very nice and interesting :). Finally, the remake is far more interesting for SR1 who graphical upgrade are more prominent (boss are more impressive now !) and even cutscenes are updated. For SR2, the remaster have a lesser effect. Score : 4/5 (-1 for the drawbacks)
