If you have any sort of inkling towards original storytelling, strategy and role-playing you should get this game! It does things very differently from any other game and does it really well. I think it's main quality for me is the depth of the world and the story as well as all the events that you decide on. It is quite a tough game strategically but really rewarding throughout. Next turn becomes an addiction and you really fell like you inhabit that world, which is very rare for in the gaming industry. Highly original in all areas and very well made.

This one was the best in the series and a watermark for other god games along with SimCity 2000. However I really feel GOG and EA should have bundled 1+2 together. I'll be waiting for the discount.
This is one of my all time favorite games. In my top 10 best games of all time. I love it. However why are they selling it without Alien Crossfire? That pack is so deeply ingrained in the Alpha Centauri experience that I can't imagine playing without it. It's like half a game almost....hence half the score :/ I hope this will be fixed or at least become available in some way.
