CrossCode

The shadow member of the Pantheon

Crosscode may not be as famous as the likes of Hollow Knight, Celeste, Stardew Valley, among others. But it should be. It is a masterclass of game design, writing and soul. A perfect experience that is far more than hte ssum of its parts. It could be fully priced at $150 and you'd still be hard pressed to complain given the sheer amount of content you could extract out of this game, and even without that, just hte base game and the New Home DLC are easily 60 to 90 hours of content depending on how much you do, and it could easily stretch to 300 or more if you wanna tackle replays in NG+ It's my favorite game of all time.

Oxenfree

Truly, a wonderful experience.

Hello. As it may me obvious, I got the game in the free offer. And already played it twice, to get what I think is the best ending. Now, Oxenfree is many things. It's a game about mystery. It's a game about the paranormal. It's a game about wonder, choices and consecuences. But most of all, it's a game about characters. You might think that your choices are irrelevant, but they're not. I played the game two times in the span of 24 hours and made two runs almost identical, changing only things that I thought made sense with my meta-knowledge. However, the game became a completely different experience. Not only because of the (cleverly) added stuff on the second run, but because having already spent time with those characters and knowing what would happen, I could understand their struggles better. Also, during the second run, I managed to found all the Anomalies and Addler Letters (Given, once you understand how the hints work, it's far easier). I believe this is what leads you to getting the "good" ending, so I'm fairly certain that i'm going to do a third run, but reseting everything, seeing if i can get it on a first try. What I'm trying to say is, the game has so much replayability it's almost overwhelming. And I think that's amazing. Other amazing thing is the duration. What did it take me, 6 hours? A perfect lenght for a simple sitdown. I did the two runs without moving from my seat and I know That experience is going to repeat. But, the lenght is also something remarkable, as making someone sit for 6 hours straight without even getting on social media to comment stuff is something amazing. Also, a quick mention to the artstyle and the music, that make an amazing, dark yet bearable and beautiful athmosphere. Only problem: It can get glitchy at times. Especially when climbing, for some reason. TL;DR: Oxenfree is a great game. Your choices matter. The characters are cool. The story is amazing. The Artstyle and Music are something else. Play it.
