i think people have some common misconceptions there are rpg elements but the game doesnt show you it unless you have the verrified amount of skill points. ngl i like that concept and it fixes my biggest gripe with fallout new vegas. i love the shit out of new vegas but god damn does it fuck up with showing us how much of stats you need to get a scenario. and its alway ALWAY the best option it ruins role play and makes the game a cake walk. also people forgot entirally about witcher 3 and forgot how on railsy it is there are a few i can think of that are "major" changes but mostly its just dialogue. that being said i kinda agree the rpg elements feel tact on sometimes and having only 5ish skills was dumb as shit, also the loot system ruins role play you can't specialize in centain weapons cause you'll change weapons constantly which sucks but the gunplay is tight and with extra items from the ripper doc its it goes from solid to fucking fantasic (get double jump trust me). the city is filled with life ( millage will very depending on your pc im not blind i know people are going through a fuck ton of glitches and tbh cdpr shouldve delayed ). gigs and side quest do have fantastic writing unfortunaitly youll have to read it. 50-60% of the time the games side quest's amazing writing is on computer emails and books ( flash drives idk) which is kinda annnoying but trust me theyre well worth it also the quest themselves are more like deus exy rather than fallout or witcher which i fucking dig so no complaints the rpg elements are sprinkled in which is a nice touch but like i said most of the time they wont show up unless you have set amount of skills. also world building kicks ass (pay attention during side quests and while reading). tldr: if you like borderlands and deus ex and really good writing that you have to work for and can wait 6-8 months its a must buy. remeber its not the second coming of christs its a video game.
