Wizard of Legend promises Rogue-Lite(RL) action paced by the skill of the player, and intense magical combat. Out of 5 stars 4 are awarded due to the game's pieces which fit together like a piece of great artwork. The final star is missing due to the length of the title. Randomization to impart a sensation of fresh game-play is common with RL titles, but unfortunately the game's world content is so limited that randomization only serves as a stop gate tactic. Thankfully this feature lends itself to the idea of the pace set by the skill of the player. The world would seem more larger if the world progression were hidden from the player, but at the same time it may seem disingenuous to some players. This type of situation would be difficult for any game developer to truly flush out. Maybe in the future if an expansion could provide other magics and allow alternate world-paths to take place I would give the title another star. Other reviews have pointed out its similarities to other indie titles, but what is important and unique about Wizard of Legend is how the elements of top-down real-time fighting are carefully managed with its system of magic combat. I believe it's not entirely perfect, but it's more than well thought out enough to get a player to really tinker with builds. Discovery and personal growth is a large part of the fun of the game. I am lead to suggest exploring the game without guides as meta could very easily destroy the play experience. It's been about 10 hours and I'm just about to master the final challenge in the game. Hope to see more friends know and enjoy this title. tl/dr - Good if you don't get wrapped up in meta and learn the game for yourself. 4/5 due to increased skill reducing the impression of the size of the game.
