Technobabylon

Schway.

I absolutely love this game. Now, I'm not a huge fan of cyberpunk, so I might miss something that a true believer would find irritating; but it's got just enough cyberpunkness to make me happy. Awesome easter eggs. Great plot. Characters who feel alive, with their own backstories, flaws, lovable treats, everything. One of my favorite 'point and click's of all time.

Realpolitiks

No, thank you.

The game could've been fun, perhaps, but Crimea and Donetsk as provinces of Russia? Not a good idea. Although not really surprising, considering that the game has a Russian publisher.

An oldie but a goodie.

The game made me chuckle all the way. Sure, some puzzles are kind of silly and take a lot of guesswork, but all in all it's great. I loved the tribute to late, great Henry Kuttner.

Hard West

My new favorite game

I love the genre of Western, and I loved the original X-COM back when it was a new game. Hard West creates a great Western atmosphere, with gunfighters, gold rushes, bounty hunters, and some mystic elements that I find enjoyable. The music adds to the atmosphere; so does the voiceover. Combat system is more similar to the new X-COM than the original one, with its use of covers; and it's just as deadly as the first X-COM missions. Life is harsh out there. If you let the enemy spot you, you're as good as dead. The creaters added a "Luck" system which is rather cool; it lets you literally dodge the bullets, but the more it happens, the faster your luck runs out. Also there are the cards that add special abilities to your characters, making unique combinations. Definitely worth a try.

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption

Another good game from the Coles

One of the most enjoyable games I've played this year. The plot is good, the characters are all interesting, the art is beautiful, and after I finished the game, there were still some interesting bits left, since there are multiple approaches to some situations, and each approach is fun to try. Some of the characters are not what they seem to be. Some of them are not what you think they are. And, of course, there's the Coles' trademark humour. There are many easter eggs both for the fans of Quest for Glory series and for those who can't tell Yesufu from Dinarzad. I almost cried when I saw dedications to some of the characters I knew and loved in Quest for Glory. There's a romantic part that allows you to conquer the heart of a classmate (and you decide who it is that you like). There's magic, mysteries, and so many ways to be either a Rogue Hero or a heartless thief.
