while a vast improvement over dead age, the constant micromanagement and returning to base each morning and night grinds the game to a halt constantly. every time you return to base you must reset all your npcs tasks. while needing to reassign weapons and armor goals are understanable (although could be side stepped with a production que) base defence and food gathering could be essentially continues unless you choose to reassign. i find the combat slow, that in itself isnt terable in a turn based game but the sheer number of encounters combined with the number of hits it takes to kill the opponents is frustrating. oh and last but not least the quests that ask you to go to one HQ to talk with some npc then go to another HQ to ask a question then return to the OG HQ makes me want to smash the laptop im using, it wouldnt be so bad if it wasnt for the fact that usually takes three day night cycles, so three restarts from base and three times reasigning camp NPCs
I've spent over 100 hours exploring Cyberpunk with one character and toughly enjoyed it, Some of the Locations, missions and people you interact with shine and bring out an emotional response it's pure gold! but that almost makes the games shortfalls more devastating. First and foremost the police are a broken mess there is no enjoyment to being instantly surrounded and one shot killed. for example a group of Tiger Claws have wiped out an entire market and you witness them execute someone so you reload a save to try and rescue them but they run into your gun fire and all of a sudden the cops show up! some of the side missions should have had non violent methods for resolving not just kill the main bad guy' it feels like a lot of the game is sitting on the cutting room floor. I don’t regret paying full price and I would still recommend the game just with expectations tempered.
