5+ stars for the game itself. 3-4 stars for GOG implementation. Installing mods is a currently a huge pain. I did not mind the DRM.
An awesome game to play with my 6-year old daughter! We've had a blast playing the game occasionally for the past year. ... Until the last update. On my Windows 7 PC it refused to start, asking now for some d3dcompiler_47.dll On my Windows 10 new Dell notebook it started once, crashed in the menu, and refused to start ever since (black screen and nothing). It took me almost 2 hours to try various options until I found out that it is possible to roll back updates. Seriously, this is not good. Why did they even do the update? GDPR? It should be possible to introduce it without ruining the stability of the game. Rating of 4 stars until this mess is fixed.
This is hands down one of the best games in the genre. Strictly better than Diablo 3 in my book. Lots of beautiful historic landscapes and a well-connected storyline. Also, love the amount and mechanic of loot drops.
Please fix: setup_wing_commander_4_1.0.0.6-2.bin downloads only up to 337 MB and then progresses no further. I downloaded all other pieces OK, just have a problem with this last one.
