The game is a mix of Doom & Wolf 3D, the sound effects are really cool, the audio is straight out of old school WWII films like the Longest Day / A Bridge Too Far. If you play the expansion Platoon Leader, on one mission of the Vietnam War, the start is straight from the last battle scean from the movie Platoon (New Year's Day Battle of 1968). The game is hard even playing on normal, but the attention to detail is great for a 1999 game, it really is a foundation of what we have today.
