The game standalone is amazing! Augmented by an enthusiastic community of modders enriching the DND experience combined with mutiplayer, brings friends far away back to the table with you to play another campaign together. I wish you luck on your journeys :)
The Wing Commander series came out when I was 4 years old and this space simulation still beats out most that I play to this day with a great balance of plot and gameplay even after 23 years I still have yet to grow tired of blowing up Kilrathi. I can't think of a better game to download for hours of interstellar enjoyment. Have fun and remember Alt Ctrl E to eject.... it happens.
