This game was in Early Access for years, but don't let the removal of the EA tag fool you, this game is still years from being releasable. The "Full Version" of their game receives patches of more than 100gbs every few weeks, which break most save games and all mods. BG3 is still barely playable across the board, and Larian is scrambling to squash bugs every day while also creating brand new ones at a shocking pace. Buy this game and play it in about 10 years when they finally release a stable version, unless you enjoy having to take a week off every 100 hours or so while you wait for their newest "patch" to actually get fixed so you can keep playing.
This game has been tied up in defunct companies for years, but is one of my all time favorite games. This first game in both the branching Blood Omen and Legacy of Kain series is a top down isometric RPG of a style that simply doesn't get made anymore, as opposed to the 3D action platformer style of the later games. The ambience, character, and story development are top notch. and set the groundwork for the wild developments of the series plot.
It feels frustrating that something this simple is not a free option. If they genuinely only recorded the dialogue as beeps and had to get the original voice actor back in to make this it seems fair though. Either way I personally prefer the beeps, they add a level of absurdity that simple profanity can't match.
This game is a very interesting and fun take on point and click adventures, with a compelling and unusual storyline. It is however, a TERRIBLE adaptation of the fantasy novels it's "based" on.
