The depth of Baldur's Gate is unmatched. The fact you can do pretty much anything and still have a complete and cohesive story is amazing. Romance an NPC or kill them, the story continues. The limitless choices, as well as the speculalar gameplay and visuals, make this very close to the best designed game ever, if not the best.
