What adventure?

Why is this game categorized as an adventure game when it is mainly a visual novel? The controls are clumsy, the graphics seriously below par and... That is where I have stop my review; I really wish I could go more into the game experience, but after three crashes that put me back at the beginning of the game, I decided to move on.

Too freaking buggy

I played IHNM when it came out, way back when and remember it being difficult and buggy. Gave up playing it this time around, for it being just too freaking buggy! Items disappearing from inventory, events not happening when they should. Not worth the frustration.

When into adventure games, ignore.

What a horrible game... It starts of decently, and then just goes down hill at a high speed. This is another game that is more about story telling than about solving puzzles. I did not even play it till the end. Some of the voice acting is so horrible that it hurts! The beautiful drawings only help to point out the terrible animations. Remember playing Dune? Well... I am glad I bought when it was on discount - even Whispers of a Machine was better than this!

Whispers of a Machine

Nice premise, lacks logic

Even with the above average voice acting and the nice augmentation twists the game offers, there is a lot that could and should have been there in terms of detective logic. The choice for `old-fashioned´ graphics is a bit of a downer... the game doesn't really suffer a lot from it, but ... it would have made for a four star review. Having that said, I enjoyed playing it - even with the predictable whodunnit outcome...
